What a personal collection is
A personal collection is a body of documents, photographs and other materials that reveal a person not only as a statesman but also as an individual: documents from different periods of life, correspondence, awards and mementos. These materials help to see the history of a personality through the events of their life, family, service and formation.
K. K. Tokayev’s personal collection is held in the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Biography of a statesman
The personal collection of Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev has been formed since K. K. Tokayev assumed the powers of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The legal status of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan is determined by the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan”.
The collection was established to preserve the documentary heritage reflecting the governmental, official, sociopolitical, diplomatic, international and other activities of Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev during his exercise of the powers of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The personal collection includes originals and/or copies of biographical documents, creative materials, documents produced in the exercise of presidential powers and in official and public activities, official and personal correspondence, manuscripts of speeches, reports, articles, books and addresses, photographs, sound recordings, films and videos, electronic documents, materials relating to international activities, documents concerning state awards, printed publications and other materials documenting the life, diplomatic work and state service of the collection’s creator.
The documents reflect Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev’s activities in further developing the statehood of the Republic of Kazakhstan, improving public administration, implementing political, socioeconomic and constitutional reforms, strengthening international cooperation, ensuring national security and promoting the national interests of the Republic of Kazakhstan internationally.
The personal collection is to be continually supplemented with documents produced during its creator’s further governmental, public and international activities, as well as documents received in accordance with the procedures established by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
